A Brief History of Myself
Here are a few highlights of my journey thus far:
- I was born and raised in Oregon, with a brief stint in the midwest.
- In 2004, God led me to move to Hawaii through a series of divinely orchestrated events.
- I assisted in planting a small church in Kailua-Kona, which exists today as New Hope Legacy.
- Employment doors began to open, and I worked for a number of years in the construction industry.
- Around 2006, I opened a small IT consulting firm.
- In 2007, I ‘officially’ met an amazing woman named Ku’uipo. (unofficially…I’ll let her tell you the rest of the story)
- In 2008 I transitioned from the construction industry into resort community management, and managed a resort facility for a period of 10 years.
- In 2010 Ku’uipo and I were married, and began the next season of our journey together.
- In 2015, our son Kawika was born. He did not come with an owner’s manual.
- Around 2017, I served for a short time on staff at New Hope Legacy.
- In 2018 I bid adieu to resort management and transitioned to the telecommunications industry, providing business class phone and internet service with RedRoad Telecommunications.
- Our son Kanoa was born in 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic.
- In 2021, God led me through a shift of trajectory from telecommunications to pastoring. I served as the interim campus pastor at New Hope Legacy through a season of change, and stepped into the role of senior pastor near the end of that year.
- Today my days are spent investing time into developing leaders in the Kingdom, trying to be the best husband and father that I can be, and generally trying to focus my time on the “5%” of life that truly matters.
